An opportunity exists for an experienced Head of People & Culture to drive and lead our people agenda, supporting our growing International and New Business division.
Reporting to the Group Executive, People & Culture, you will play a key role in the senior leadership team. You’ll partner with the Group Executive- International & New Business and business leaders to provide strategic HR advice to drive nib’s Strategic Plan, Group People Plan and International Business Strategy.
Exploring new business initiatives through experimentation and capitalising on evolving market conditions in pursuit of growing enterprise is a key business philosophy for the nib Group. Our adjacent businesses, which include our New Zealand operations, international students and workers and our travel insurance business currently account for 30% of earnings and we actively plan to increase this to 50% of our Group earnings in the future.

As the Head of People & Culture you will partner with senior leaders to drive the development of a high performance organisational culture across nib’s International & New Business division. Encompassing all areas of HR including performance management, organisational and talent development, engagement and retention, work health and safety and employment relations. Your coaching approach will enable leaders to assume responsibility of all aspects of people management whilst championing change within the business in line with nib’s strategic agenda.
Due to the nature of our agile business, we are looking for you to have extensive experience at a senior HR level in a similar environment.
Your experience in leading and managing teams within a high performance culture where constant change and growth are considered the ‘norm’ will see you well placed for success in this role. You will see yourself as a natural leader with a demonstrated ability to effectively coach, mentor and develop HR professionals, along with the ability to build and engage in meaningful relationships at all business levels to influence and lead organisational change.
You will be passionate about actively promoting cultural change and driving and supporting new ways of working with a continuous improvement mindset to provide a high quality, professional and cohesive People & Culture service.
You will be comfortable to deal with ambiguity whilst innovating and delivering across the nib’s strategic agenda. Mostly, you are self-motivated and solutions focused with a true passion for what you do which will see you add value through a positive contribution to organisational growth, project delivery and culture development.
