Effective ownership of the Accounts Payable functions within the business. Provide support to the Accounts Receivable process:

  • Create and maintain supplier database
  • Manage, review and perform routine functions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including preparation and processing of invoices and payments (for suppliers, claimants and employee expense reimbursements)
  • Strong understanding of international & foreign currency payments
  • General accounting duties including preparation of journal entries; month end reporting, review of debtors and creditors ledgers and analysis as required
  • Attend to requests for information from other finance team members and other departments in a timely manner
  • Ensure relevant and appropriate approvals have been received prior to processing payments
  • Management of the credit card process, including new cards and amendments, monthly card reconciliation management, internal and external disputes & queries
  • Payment support for the claims team with the timely & accurate processing of payments, generation of receipts & payment reconciliations
  • General adhoc duties including filing, distribution of invoices etc

Technical Responsibilities 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an Accounts Payable Team
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an  Accounts Receivable Team
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Sun systems experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience within a Shared Service environment
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations and journals
  • Experience with foreign currency payments
