Exciting things are happening at nib! Our well-established finance team are moving towards a more efficient way of supporting our rapidly expanding business. nib, an ASX 200 listed organisation, are currently experiencing unprecedented growth both domestically and internationally. As such, our finance team are transforming towards a more efficient way of supporting our rapidly expanding business. To this extent we are building up the house of Finance for nib Group, which involves developing our nib travel insurance business, under nib’s centre of excellence for travel, World Nomads Group.
As such, a brand new role now exists for a Management Accountant. The particular remit around this role will be to support to the business in managing the financial performance; and preparation of internal reporting requirements as needed within the remit of Travel for Australia and New Zealand. The role will report to our Financial Controller, Travel.
This Management Accountant opportunity will provide support to the business in managing the financial performance; and preparation of internal reporting requirements as needed within the remit of Travel for World Nomads Group. Key responsibilities include business partnering, budget & forecasts and reporting & analysis.
What you’ll be doing:
As a highly experienced professional, you will develop collaborative working relationships with business unit managers and be recognised as a valued source of knowledge and recipient of information, for the assigned business unit managers. You will work with the Business Partners/Commercial managers to deliver a seamless partner for information to the business units to allow the managers to make informed decisions to drive great outcomes.
The key deliverables of the role will see you responsible for ensuring models are created that effectively address business needs. Models will completed accurately, thoroughly and on time, providing reliable information to the Executive team and nib head office. This opportunity will allow you confidently challenge and scrutinise budget/forecast assumptions made by business unit managers, to ensure the budget/forecast figures presented to senior management can be relied upon.
You will be required to provide insightful analysis and meaningful commentary, to assist the executive team and business unit managers understand the key drivers of the business. You will also be required to participated in the half-year and annual external audit process, as well as periodic internal audits and providing prompt, thorough and professional response to all audit queries.
What you’ll have:
- Qualified as a CPA/CA/CIMA with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a management accountant
- Experience with an online, multi-currency business preferred
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience with multiple accounting systems
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Insurance industry experience essential, preferably in a commercial environment
- Skills in both management and financial reporting preferred
- Ability to analyse and communicate financial information.
